COLLABORATOR
Born in the suburbs of Chicago, IL, and raised in the blues capital of Memphis, TN, AhDream Smith is an award-winning New York–based narrator, actor, and collaborator. She brings a storyteller’s heart and an actor’s precision to every project.
Her narration of The Girls Who Grew Big by New York Times Best Selling author, Leila Mottely, earned her an AudioFile Magazine Earphones Award in August of 2025, marking a milestone in her narration career.
She is a former resident actor of the PlayMakers Repertory Company and earned an MFA in Acting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her tenure there, she was the recipient of the Arts Everywhere Student Innovation Grant for her COVID-19 multi-sensory art exhibition, “Make It Make Sense.” She was also inducted into UNC’s oldest and highest honorary society, Order of the Golden Fleece.
When she’s not in someone's rehearsal or recording studio, you can find her creating and producing her own work, collaborating with other creatives and organizations to bring their visions to life, or Facetiming with her nephews and chatting about their lives : )
