Based in New York City and a professional actor by training, AhDream earned her MFA in Acting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her tenure there, she regularly performed as a resident company member of PlayMakers Repertory Company in roles ranging from Rosalind in Shakespeare’s As You Like It to Taylor in Lydia Diamond’s Stick Fly.

Since relocating back to New York City, she has hit the ground running. From making her Off-Broadway debut with Mint Theater Company in their world premiere of Partnership by Elizabeth Baker to setting up her home recording studio. She has fortified her audio narration toolbox through participation in the Audiobook Publisher Association 2023 DEI Mentorship Program receiving guidance from the award-winning narrator, Janina Edwards. Regularly recording books for Learning Ally, some of her recent projects include Not Little, Electric Arches, Wangari's Trees of Peace, and Remember Us.

A southern belle at heart, her warm and youthful voice can be found breathing life into various characters within the Young Adult, Fiction, and New Adult Fiction genres. AhDream loves to narrate audiobooks of all kinds, but her passion is to voice BIPOC stories, messages, and writers, showcasing people’s full humanity and the intersectionalities that exist within the diaspora. A global citizen, having lived abroad in Ecuador, Uganda, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic, she is always looking for opportunities to weave moments from her travels into her characters.

When she’s not on stage, on set, or in the booth, she enjoys spending her free time social dancing, photographing family and friends, and coloring elaborate sunsets.

VOICEOVER CLIPS

Absolutely splendid work! Your acting background really comes through in the way you render even the bit characters in such evocative ways. You imbue Dot herself with pretty substantial depth via the small details as well (the pride when she announces her favorite Mars rover, her trepidation which gives way to rage when confronting the ‘mean boy’, her gentle interactions w/ Sam, etc.). You really went above & beyond in adding layers to the assorted characters beyond what was laid out on the page & I’ve no doubt this one will prove a big hit with students thanks in no small part to your superb performance. Many thanks on behalf of the entire crew for giving us the benefit of your time & talents!
